• Stalls are offered to the public by expression of interest.

• Applicants will have to fill in an application form and submit the following documents: ID-card, proof of address, employment card.
I intend to carry out a business. What are the procedures to obtain a licence?
• The legal name of a licence is ‘trade fee”.
• To apply for a trade fee, the applicant must call at the Health Department of the Council.
• There are several documents which have to be produced to obtain a trade fee.
• The documents to be produced depend on the nature of the business.
• Some of the common documents needed are: ID-card, Business card, Building and land use permit or development permit, site and location plan, proof of address, authorization letter form owner.
What is a business registration card?
• Any person applying for a trade fee should first of all obtained a business registration card(BRC)
• The BRC can be obtained at the Companies Division, Cathedral One Square Building, Rue Pope Henessy, Port Louis (nr. Supreme Court)
There is an illegal business operating in my locality. What should I do?

• Clearances will have to be obtained from other Authorities, such as Police Department, Health Ofiice of Mins. of Health, MASA, Mins. of Commerce, etc.
• Fees will be charged according to nature of Trade fair / Occasional Licence.
What are the procedures to effect a burial?
• The declarent should call at the office of the cemetery.
• He should submit the burial permit (obtained from the Civil Status Office) to the officer in charge and inform him of the time of burial.
• The officer will do necessary formalities and inform the person in what section and grave the burial
• A fee has to be paid for the burial.
• For re-opening of a private grave, the last burial effected in the grave should be more than five years.
